My Daisy Prayer
“He loves me.
He loves me not.
He loves me.
He loves me not.”
Lord, You love me.
You don’t ever not love me.
It’s not like a child’s game of picking petals off a daisy.
It’s not that you love me when I’m “good”
and then not love me when I’m “bad”.
You don’t even see me as “good” or “bad”.
You see me as LOVED.
That’s it.
Loved in your goodness.
Cherished in your heart.
There are days I perceive myself
as having been “bad”.
At those times I want to hide.
I see myself doing “bad” things
and don’t know how to stop.
But you don’t see me as “bad”.
You see me as LOVED.
You want to help me.
You know I can’t change myself.
You wrap your arms around me
and tell me I am Yours.
You see your goodness in me
and that is what you celebrate.
I don’t have to hide.
Every day is a good day with you.
Every little thing I CAN do
is a little thing you celebrate.
The rest you are not holding against me.
The rest I need your help with.
I am looking to you.
I don’t know how to change this.
You understand my weakness.
Please can you help me.
“He loves me.
He loves me.
He loves me.
That’s it.”
