Online counselling

Online counselling with Yvonne at Daisy Vision Counselling

What is online counselling?

My online counselling sessions take place using Zoom video. (For those who feel unable to cope with the technology, I also offer counselling over the phone or via emails.) Whichever you choose, you can receive counselling from the comfort and privacy of your own home without the inconvenience or cost of travelling to your session.

Online counselling is a way of meeting me, face to face, from your computer or phone. Being able to see your counsellor gives you many of the benefits you get from face-to-face counselling but with the convenience of online therapy, including hearing empathy in the tone of my voice and seeing non-verbal communications, such as facial expressions.

Online counselling sessions on Zoom

If you choose counselling on Zoom video your sessions will last for one hour.

Sessions are usually booked over the phone, after having a chat about your reason for wanting counselling and finding out a little about your circumstances. As long as I am confident I can help you I will book your first session and then send you a confirmation email, and an agreement to read through and agree to and my  bank details. Once your payment has cleared I  will set up a Zoom meeting at your chosen time and send you an email invitation to the meeting. You can join a Zoom meeting using a computer, phone or tablet.

However, if I am working with people who are not used to using Zoom and would feel happier about it, I also offer phone counselling.

You don't have to cope alone!

Do you need help to live life? Do you feel unable to face your problems on your own? Are you looking for someone you can talk to, who will take time to really hear and understand you, without judging you, or telling you what to do? Do you feel unable to speak to friends or family but desperately need a listening ear?

I am here for you. I will listen to you, allowing you to pour out your troubles, at your own pace. I will come along-side you, seeing things from your perspective, in a way that friends and relatives may not be able to. I will help you face your problems, find ways of dealing with them and help you to bring about changes, that will enable you to come through on the other side.

You do not need to be ashamed for not coping, you do not need to feel embarrassed, or like you've failed. Irealise it can be a big step to acknowledge your need and turn to others for help, but together we can work through these feelings and help you to find a way of coping with life again. Within the counselling relationship I will provide a safe place for you pour-out, without fear of judgment, but maintaining a position of respect and value.

Phone counselling

I'm aware that online counselling isn't for everyone and so I also offer counselling on the phone. It's a warm, familiar way to receive counselling, particularly for older people having Bereavement Counselling or if you're not confident with using the technology required for online counselling.
